Ah, see I avoided Supernatural because it was marketed here as being really "sexy".

And when Channel 10, when they try to be "sexy" just come off as really quite disgustingly sleazy. It's partly to do with this voiceover lady they use who chronically overuses this breathy voice that just makes me want to retch.

Humbleminion, back me up on this one, would'ya?

Heh, I'll take your work for it. It's on the WB here, which has two modes: Obnoxious teenybopper soap opera drama, or actually legitimately good show. The thing is that all of the shows that fall into the second category also have certain aspects of the first, so I guess I can see why it would get marketed that way.

So far there's been basically no sex at all in the episodes I've seen, apart from the two lead actors providing tons of eye candy. Then again, I'm only three episodes in, so who knows what horrors could await...

I've only seen a few scattered episodes, but I've enjoyed what I've seen. I really enjoyed one particular show where they /were/ struggling with an incorporeal beastie. It was vastly amusing watching them struggle to kill something that couldn't be touched. Fun!

I have to admit that I have a soft spot in my head for Mr. Padalecki (sp?) I thought his character got treated rather shabbily in Gilmore Girls and I was glad to see him get a new show where he could work off some of that anger.

Me too, but that's because I borrowed the actor to stand in as one of the major NPCs for my Buffy game. *points at icon* I've never seen Gilmore Girls - is it any good?

I really should check out supernatural... i know the guys are dang cute but it premiered when i was out fo the country really... i didnt want to get started when i was leaving ya see

I think there were some other problems with season 8 besides the cheating thing...

in other news: get BSG yet it should be in your area by now...

You'd definitely like Supernatural if you liked The X-Files at all. It's very similar to X-Files, and even shares a lot of the same production crew from what I can tell - so it reminds me a lot of early X-Files episodes in tone, structure, and cinematography. And the fact that Jared Padalecki is FINE does not hurt matters either. (c;

I haven't gotten the BSG DVDs yet but I'll make sure to check for them when I get home.

Awesome on your 4.0! Just awesome!!!! As a former manager, I can tell you that your "grades" may not mean anything directly to the job specific stuff, but I promise that no one can argue with the fact that a 4.0 in Grad school means that you are hard working and dedicated and reliable and serious, and that is important to any job. Of course, to anything teaching related like you mentioned your were hoping for, I rather think the 4.0 will speak for itself. =)

Thanks Nick! I just keep telling myself that even though my experience is lacking, in grad school and elsewhere I do have academic credentials that can't be beat.
