Pravda Has About As Much Credibility As The 'Press Release' I left In My Toilet This Morning nortelrye January 18 2006, 01:23:57 UTC
Like a certain Floridian lawyer, Pravda has very little indeed in the way of credibility. I remember hearing about the (former) Soviet daily newspaper 'Pravda' in a Tom Clancy novel I read years ago. When I found out they had an English language website, I went to go check them out. Unfortunately, many of their stories are pro-Russian government propaganda, and the rest are complete and utter nonsense. Please note that these are all posted on their website as "news" stories ( ... )

So in other words, the Prada is Russia's World Weekly News?

JACK! GO AWAY! LEAVE GAMEPOLITICS AND NEVER COME BACK! jerico6 January 18 2006, 01:31:36 UTC
This is it, Jack Thompson! I urge you to go away and never came back from GamePolitics. You bring the worst out of everybody! You have made me and other people like me very angry. At first I found rantings very entertaining and hilarious. Then they became just humorous. Now their just idiotic. I am getting really tired of your rantings now, thanks to recent positive stories that have been about games, I don't need to hear your opinions anymore. Your opinions are worthless now. You have already proven that you hate our guts, that you are a bold faced liar, and that you think video games are "murder simulators". You have no effect on the government, no say in politics, and no power over what people play. You continue to try and twist the United States Constitution so you can have it satisfy you own sick money hungering, attention whoring agenda ( ... )

Ever since I've found out he got kicked off Free Republic, I've wanted to know why, or at least read the drama logs of it happening and of Jack's subsequent banning. Let that be a lesson: Be careful what you wish for.

can this time around we keep the mention of JT to an ABSOLUTE minimum?

anyways.

This shows that it's tv's fault for once :D
I get the feeling that television has used videogames as a scapegoat for far too long

Blaming the cameras anonymous January 18 2006, 01:54:12 UTC
So this person, Vadim Domnitsky, suddenly decided that now was a good time to cut up a synagogue, and assumably wouldn't had done so if he had missed the news coverage.

What is it, exactly, about news coverage that people deem it acceptable to blame the coverage for inspiring copy-cat incidences? Is it too much time spent on the villians backgrounds? Is it countless dramatic re-enactments and shots of people in anguish with black and white pictures of the murderer being interposed over the shot while dramatically backing up? Too much replay?

What if it was the choice of words in describing the killer itself?
Any thoughts?
