Rewatch Par-tay!

This is today's rewatch comment thread. I'll be watching this evening at 6 pm Central Time, but you're welcome to join in any time! The week's episode is the season 3 ep, "Our Father". Heroes Wiki gives this summary of it:

television shows, !fandom: heroes

I'll probably start watching pretty soon, in the next ten minutes.

Okay, starting off with initial thoughts before rewatching. First of all, a title that is a quote from something actually makes some sort of sense to what's going on without having to read really deeply into the episode. That sort of thing really did plague this series, and the others to a lesser extent.
Though I did love the Bowie reference one with "Turn and Face the Strange". Can't help but think "Ch-ch-changes". Plus, added to Bennet's "Rebel rebel" a couple of episodes before that its extra funny and I'm getting ahead of myself...

Other small, off-topic point about the DVD menu. The second clip you show is from the last episode in the boxset? Well done spoilers.

Right, this episode. Once again, I'm going to point out how the Wiki description makes Hiro and Claire's subplot so much more interesting than it actually is :)

I also have a ready supply of tissues and if you can't guess what scene they are for then you don't know me by now ;)

Here we go!

I love it when titles make sense. I try real hard for that on my own stories, but sometimes the title only makes sense to me, and sometimes I end up with something boring. But I enjoyed that Heroes at least tried.

I liked Japanese-speaking Bennet! His power truly: bad-assery.

How can Claire recognize herself as a baby? I mean, yes, its her because she's being handed off by some strange Asian dude, but...

Hilarious that after all this time Claire and Hiro haven't met yet? My two least favorite parts of the Heroes advertisements - Hiro and Claire.

Right on, Kring, for freaking once - having a NICE parent.

I love that they have 'nice parents'. So rare in TV shows.

Forgot his mother was a healer (not that that's really important where I come from, Petlar Inc).

I won't lie...Kaito kinda scares me, if he were my dad...Same for Arthur.

Suddenly convenient cellphone...

I love "Don't know, don't care. I'm not helping you anymore, [spits] Arthur!" Elle, looks like you got your wish - he's not connected to the Petrellis anymore!

I am a proud employee of Petlar, Inc.! We should have business cards made.

I love how most of the old generation of specials were scary as hell!

LOL! I love it!

Dude, they so are. Bob, Chandra even, Angela, Kaito, Bennet (not a special), Claude (not a founder), Rene (creepy as hell on principal, even when he talks and gives helpful advice), Adam (sort of a founder), Arthur, Linderman...am I missing anyone? Maury, geesh. I would *love* Love, love, love to see a Heroes show about THEM. I mean, even what little we see of them when they're young or brief Adam flashbacks are just...gives me shivers.

What was I watching last night? S2, disc one, so up through Kindred. And Angela was...well, she "got around" if you follow. She said she "wasn't sleeping with him [Kaito]. Not for a long time" to Matt. Cue awkward shifting-around. I always pegged her with Linderman so, so hard based on that stew scene in S1. Cue jokes about Peter being Linderman's, ha!

Hey, did you notice how Angela refers to Rene as The Haitian, right in front of him? Is it just me, or was that rude? Talking about him like he's not there. And why is she still calling him that? Doesn't Peter by this time know his name is Rene? I mean they were just in Haiti together!

Hmm. Eden calls him "That Haitian" in a rather derogatory way to Bennet in S1!

Money doesn't make the manners, I tell you what. Petrellis - Exhibit A.

Eh, he wasn't named Rene until Season 4, when he gained a name out of the blue, for no apparent reason. But then again, he was also introduced as mute in the early episodes, and then started talking for no apparent reason.
