This is today's rewatch comment thread. I'll be watching this evening at 6 pm Central Time, but you're welcome to join in any time! The week's episode is the season 3 ep, "Our Father". Heroes Wiki gives this summary of it:
HOLY CRAP! Angela PREP TALKING Peter to kill his dad...I so forgot about that...Poor Peter, because Angela is *actually* sincere this time! Peter's clearly not in love with the working-up-to part. If it were his idea, he'd already be there and have it done...probably.
What the fuck does Tracey actually do for her "job"? Besides sleep with people and annoy everyone else, backstabbing along the way.
Tracy is a professional lobbyist if I remember correctly. That means that it is her job to read all the upcoming legislation that relates to her employer's interests, and then persuade as many legislature members as possible to vote in her employer's favor
( ... )
My real question is who is paying Tracy's salary. Because lobbyists don't just float around not advancing someone's goals. They work for someone. The way they have her is like saying she's a salesman, but then not having her having any products to sell.
She mentioned earlier in S3 that she'd been taking a "consultant fee" from Pinehearst for over a year. I get the feeling she's done dealings with Arthur or maybe a henchmen like Maury before and didn't know she was so...connected when Nathan comes around and goes 'uh, that's my dad'. Her and Arthur seemed....tight.
Because all other parents in this are either jerks (every. single. Petrelli.) or just badass (Bennent) or sort of both (Kaito)
No recap of Sylar killing Elle. I guess they are assuming we'll just get it from the funeral scene. No, I haven't reached it yet, I'm just bracing myself.
Claude is in this scene. Invisible. Totally.
Hiro's "I don't understand a word you're saying" is adorable! So is young-Hiro. And his limited English. And Hiro in general. CAN I HUGS HIM? And I love that when Claire asks him what to do his reaction is *shrug*. I think Hiro is channelling my feelings towards Claire in this episode entirely.
Hiro's parents speaking English so Hiro can't understand them: INTELLIGENCE! YAY! Even though its sad.
The catalyst = most annoying MacGuffin ever.
I know Hiro's mother has only just been introduced but I already really feel the family relationship, especially between her and Kaito. Brilliant and tearkerking acting :)
When Kaito discovers Hiro, all I can think is "Bus-ted!"
I am *so* glad they had him looking emotional there. Really, it was one of those moments that made it clear he wasn't a heartless monster. A monster - yes. But not heartless.
I completely agree. The way he touches her briefly. It's just so sad and tragic. What's weird, is that it has me feeling bad for Sylar, like it's not his fault he killed her or something and he deserves sympathy for his loss. I think it must be ZQ's acting.
I think Sylar's hot, sexy, powerful and angsty. I like him as a character to write for and portray. But as I've said many times, I would not want to be in a room with him. Given my druthers, I'd kill him in a heartbeat in some final way.
I am occasionally troubled that Sylar's victims are often disposable and their deaths are not given the tragic impact I think they deserve. Or that Sylar's murders of them are aggrandized and treated as fun conquests. It twists me up to see him feeling sorry for Elle's death, when he's the one who killed her! ZQ's acting is incredible in that.
Sylar, in my writing, is very lucky that I think Peter would forgive him. Because I sure as hell wouldn't.
I always loved the element of real soldiers for testing. It made it so much creepier and more realistic.
Young!Sandra! I love you!
Claire with a baby is....a very off thought. She's like, 15 here? She'll always seem underage to me because of Hayden (and the whole Milo thing), who seems insanely young and she's a year older than me, I think.
What's with this new Sylar, faster, stonger, more seductive? Making jokes?

God, I love Nathan's suits...
That's it, just invite yourself along, Tracey.

Yes, I think Claude is there! I wonder what he thinks of Hiro and Claire?

Or maybe my phone is just really old.
And to Arthur I say - you are screwed. Evil is not a toy. Ha ha, you deserve everything that is coming to you.
I think I like Sylar best when he is obviously out for himself and not on anyone else's side. He's always at his most manipulative.
I think dramatic irony may be at work, what with Sylar igniting Elle with her own ability.
