Summary: Ted and Matt have a breakfast conversation where Ted momentarily waxes philosophical.
“What would happen if you hit a hornet’s nest,” Ted asked one morning in the restaurant of the Odessa hotel, “and didn’t run away?”
Matt chewed on his egg muffin sandwich, looking confused. “You’d get stung.”
“But how would they know it was you? Their brains are tiny.” Ted held up his thumb and index finger, almost touching. “Don’t they react to motion? If you’re not running away, they wouldn’t know who did it. Maybe it was just the wind.”
Matt shrugged. “You ever tried it?”
“I always ran away.” Ted shook his head, brow furrowed. “I always got stung.”
