Credit

As the owner of no credit cards I feel a certain wonder at where or when I will need one. Currently, using a VISA debit card seems to work the same way as any VISA credit card, at least for me.

I currently have a credit card, but it's not with me on my person and I never use it. For my parents it was more a formality for later; I'm not allowed to use it unless for emergencies. Since I don't compulsively shop and usually don't buy much of anything unless I seriously need it, and then only if I have the money, I doubt I'll ever use the card.

When do you suppose you'll get a credit card?

Really, I have no idea. I imagine I'll need one once I move out of the dorms, but it's not something that's been at the front of my mind for a while.

I'm quite content to use my debit card, since it is VISA I've had no problems using it as a credit card as well. I think the only time I've run into problems is when there's a restaurant that only takes cash, but that's pretty rare.

I'll end up getting one sometime down the line, I know this. I have no credit rating at the moment so I'm pretty sure I'll end up with a card with a high interest. Then I'll need to use it so I can build up a good rating and switch to something better.

I think I have a bit of a credit card stigma because my aunt has been in debt for several years from her card usage (who needs a brand new expensive cell phone every year? Or a Mercedes every few years?!). I know she's crazy and I could never spend like her but...meh.
