The great stand-up comedian George Carlin died yesterday. He was as legendary in his right as his iconoclastic predecessor Lenny Bruce. I loved watching his performances on YouTube, and a mere seven weeks ago, on May 1st, I saw him in person at Worcester's Hanover Theatre and he was more than worth the fifty-one bucks I paid. Yeah, I was saddened this morning when I got up and that was one of the first headlines that I saw. Just like you, I saw him not that long ago (a year ago St. Patrick's Day at PPAC) and he was funny, although he was still trying to break in his new act. But, he was definitely worth the money paid to see him.

It's a damn shame that this had to happen, but I'm sure he's yelling his opinions to St. Peter as he passes through the Pearly Gates. Hell, even God needs a laugh now and then...and Carlin's just the guy to do it!

Absolutely.

And I'm sorry I didn't see him at PPAC also.
