SO not a thing we have in the UK. I totally see the logic but we'd consider it v rude/vulgar I think. That sounds great though!

FINALLY I UNDERSTAND!!! in ontario the wedding social is referred to as the jack and jill or stag and doe.

i've seen a lot of non wedding socials here too, and in other places they get referred just as fundraisers or as galas if they are snooty and fancy.
