My poor V! Fell off a tricycle at daycare, and got a boo boo on her left elbow. Two trips to the ER at Children's, and a visit to the pediatrician's in between, (and $200+ in copays and parking) later, and she's got a shiny blue cast. They weren't sure if she had Nursemaid's Elbow (dislocation due to pulling), or an occult fracture. The dislocation

She looks pretty chipper, for all the trauma.

She is totally taking the whole thing in stride. No fussing (yet), but she's adapting well to not using that arm for much.

Any chance you can ask V some very non-leading questions about what she was doing when she got the boo boo??? She's old enough to tell you what happened if you ask her about it probably...

She didn't start complaining about her arm until naptime, probably two hours after the injury.

She would have said something, yes. And she didn't indicate that 'hey, someone did X to me and made my arm hurt', so I'm pretty confident taking them at their word. Besides, it is WAY too easy to lead a two year old into saying what you want to hear.
