I am now in Oulu, Finland, with Joni. His mother is very good at looking after me and being sure that I am at the gym, completing my rehabilitation programme. I am so far able to ride on the bike, and walk on the treadmill and I work hard to keep moving until I have my full range of motion returned. I am up early because of what waits ahead. I do not want this surgery, but it is something I must have. I am too tired of the pain. I hope it all goes well and I am soon better, but it is two months ahead. That seems so far away. I know my Joni will look after me.

MY CAPTAIN IS BACK! Okay, maybe he will not play, but he is back. He is a much, much better looking captain and will be an inspiration for the team. I am so glad for it! Maybe we can win MORE now!

We have no game today or tomorrow, so it would be a good chance to be out and doing something and enjoying springtime. But the weather is cold and it will rain, they say. It's not picnic weather at all. Maybe me and Joni can have a picnic inside, in front of the fire. He is not such a bad cook, you know.

It was a quiet one for me, as you would expect for a not-birthday year. I woke to a breakfast cooked by my Joni, and it was wonderful. I think it's only the second time he has cooked for me.
