Kirkman

The Kirkman medal is given by the ICA (Institute for Combinatorics and its Applications) every year to recent Ph.D.s with "a record of achievement" in discrete mathematics research. Award winners are announced at the Southeastern Combinatorics Conference in March.

One of the medalists for 2005 is, apparently, me.

Cool.

I am so happy for you! You certainly deserve it! I will now look for your beaming photo in the next BICA!

It's not apparently that simple, since I wasn't actually presented a medal as such; it was just announced that I was a medalist.

Which isn't to say that my photo won't be in BICA, since Ralph Stanton cornered Abbalabba and me in Walgreen's the other night.
