I think Crowley will end up turning to Sam and Cas for help dealing with a demon!Dean that he can't control/handle. :P
As for Cas, I'm very worried about him, but I've believed for the last couple seasons that he's going to end up permanently human at one point. I think this season is going to be that point. <3
And I think he'll do it for Dean.
OMG I'm so optimistic after this premiere. Can't wait.

This premier opened up a whole can possibilities, didn't it?? I would like Cas' story to definitely directly connect to the brothers in some way. And Crowley, as devilishly clever as he is, is playing a dangerous game.
I didn't see previews for next week, but it doesn't matter. I'm excited to see what happens next! :)

My opinion on the episode doesn't really differ from yours, so I'm not gonna repeat what you already said, but I just want to say how relieved I am that the episode was actually pretty okay (aside from the angel parts, which I found boring) and fun to watch... I mean, the karaoke was really cringe-worthy, but that was the desired effect, so that's fine.
And we got shirtless Dean :-) *dreamy sigh* Although that "you had to go and do that thing with the thing" line was a bit too much for me... Or maybe it was a shout out to Game of Thrones and Ygritte talking about Jon Snow doing that "thing with the tongue"? But anyway, shirtless Dean. (Yes, I'm shallow sometimes.)
Oh, and according to official promos CW materials, Soldier Guy's name is Cole. I hope they don't screw up his character, he seems interesting so far.

COLE! Thank you. And I agree -- his story has me totally intrigued. I mean, he said Dean was a monster many, many moons ago...we've known him for 9 moons, to what time would he be referring?? Before that, he was basically a kid, so...yeah. *is intrigued*

have to be honest and say I miss the recap but that's purely from a selfish reason as I normally haven't see the episode when you post :) having said that, I can totally understand why you'd want to keep it shorter and to have a life!!! I still love your streams and find them so insightful that I hope you keep doing that!!!

I'm sorry about the recap; I know there were some who did enjoy it, but to be honest, writing it out like I have been takes me close to 4 hours, which is getting a bit hard to deal with on a "school night." :( I may go back to them, who knows. Sometimes it's the best way for me to think through my opinion of a particular episode.
But as long as you enjoy the streams and the lists, we'll be good. :)

The 'Sam goes dark to save Dean'--wouldn't it have made more sense to have him gut demon girl after he'd been looking through MoL stuff?
What happened with her making/not making a phone call? That was just kind of left hanging...
Sam torturing demon girl just didn't seem that darkside to me, considering all the torturing of demon meatsuits they've done the last few years. Is that all you got, writers? (Not that I want more darkside Sam!)
Would have given my left arm to have seen Sam walk into Dean's room and find the empty bed and note and then flash forward ( ... )

You make excellent points about the flow of some of the events. Like, if we'd seen him exhaust all avenues via research, THEN saw him torturing the demon girl and heard her saying that a Winchester was one of them, THEN got the tip about Kneeley and saw the footage with Dean's eyes going black, that might've followed the "Sam goes dark" theory a bit more. But we got the "goes dark" indication right up front, so...yeah.
And you're right? Did nobody pick up the blood phone? Do they have demon voicemail? What??
I'm actually okay with it being a set-up. I have a feeling that we'll be getting a few of those here at the start...until we get the demon-Dean issue resolved and the boys back together.
