for class. That means I'll have other responsibilities
besides the fic. And my presentation on AU fanfiction is
in November -- I'll be asking for your input, of course.

Thank you for this chapter. I really love the everyday life chapters with Brian. Brian and Gus talking or not talking gave us a lot of info on what was on Gus' mind and Brian avoidance instinct in full control.

"But this happiness bullshit Gus was so obsessed with… That was too much. Too fucking much!

What was happiness, anyway? Money and health and a good, hard fuck. What more did he need?

But what did Gus need? A father who wasn’t an asshole? A father who was - God forbid! - in a relationship? A family? But that couldn’t happen again. Could it? Lightning couldn’t strike again. He’d already been in love twice in his life and the fact that one of those times had worked for 10 years was already a fucking miracle. "Now that Ron, who apparently was close and comfortable with Gus, is gone, Brian is going to have to step up and do the entire father thing, which we know how much he wants to do right

Brian and Justin are repeating themselves. For Brian it started out as just fucking with relationship denial just as it is now. Justin then as now has no doubts about who he wants.

I cracked up reading the dialogue between Gus and Brian, one probing and calling bs, the other retreating in panic. Loved the happiness is a mustang line. Hope we get to meet the bitch Mavis and what she brings to the table for Lindsay.

I love reading each chapter but damm I keep getting distracted by those eyes and lips - sensual and memorizing!

This may be a minority opinion. But Gus trying to boss Brian around is starting to get irritating. It's hard to fathom that Brian has so much tolerance for the his son's attempts to push his idealized theories of life on him. Certainly more tolerance than at least one of the readers.

Gus is Brian's soft spot -- everyone has one and Gus is Brian's. Look
at canon. Again and again, Brian does things against his self-interest
because he thinks it's better for Gus, and that includes letting Lindsay
and Mel go to Canada, which had to be the single most WTF moment
in a season of WTF moments.

Never did buy the Canada move. Seemed like Cowlip was hellbent on making a political point regardless of how out of character all four parties behaved. Both Brian AND Michael allowing their children to move away. Melanie acting like a coward. Lindsay with her Brian fixation voluntarily leaving his orbit. Come on!

Unfortunately, this Stream has to deal with that canon fact.

Know how many important and serious conversations I have had in the car with my kids, a lot - the captive audience thing - made this chapter ring so true.

No need to worry Gus about your Dad becoming a recluse or a creepy ghost; he'll be f*****g Justin's brains out in the loft. Don't think that will fit Gus' definition of happy though.
