Thank you for sharing your words and thoughts about the Carol/Randall situation. I already shared with you my feelings, in your original post, but think one thing warrants repeating.
While it is true you and "Randall" started writing at the same time and subsequently ended your stories/existence at the same time, one thing is very different. "Randall" was the made-up invention of a gifted, and in my opinion, troubled person. A person who shared their true talent with us, but in the end lied about its source and creator. You, on the other hand, have consistently shared your talent and world with us in an open and honest way.
"Randall" was a fake, and some would say, ultimate QAF fanfic character. Yes, the fandom is hurting at the loss of a long-term voice, but that voice was a lie. You on the other hand, are REAL and here.The loss of your voice and storytelling would only

If I knew how many people had been carrying on what they thought were true friendships with Brandall (my moniker for her creations) outside of Randall's yahoo group, Brian's Twitter and both of their LJs, I might have written to Carol and implored her to come clean. I'm guessing she didn't plan to die.
I do hope you are not thinking of finishing your fan fiction writing gift as well. I am still so sad that Carol/Randall thing happened but if you pull out as well I will be shattered
Sorry to read that you are thinking of no longer writing QAF. Not having you in the Fandom will greatly diminish it. You must do what you feel is best for you, but my hope is that you can relax, rejuvanate, and receive inspiration. "Lasagna" on Across the Pond hooked me. We were both so much younger then. You posted most nights and I would check back, sometimes after 2AM (even later for you on the East coast) on a night I needed to be at work by 8 that morning. Every minute of lost sleep was worth it.

I agree with what Veronica and the others said, it would be really sad if we would lose your voice among the fandom. Your stories are amazing and I think that there are so many tales you still have to tell!
