Feels like a melancholy chapter, Tim leaving Pittsburgh to die, Joan bitter, Debbie missing Vic and her family and mourning the absence of a grandchild of her own.
But maybe that's just me, feeling melancholy because QI is ending.
Debbie was quite reflective here as she recognises the changes in her family. She is so grateful that Brian is getting better nad he and Justin are together. But she will never understand how a mother can turn her back on her kid because she is not wired that way. Debbie will feel the leaving of Tim because of his connection to Vic it just makes the loss a little harder. Great chapter thanks I am so sorry this is ending it seems to have been part of my life for so long :)
Thank you for this chapter -- you can sense endings and beginnings here, as well as the things that don't change. I especially loved Debbie lighting the fuckin' candle in church (as a pastor I truly appreciated that one!).
Knowing this is coming to an end really makes me think of all the changes I have been through since you started writing this saga. I started reading in 2004 or 5, I believe, and so many changes have taken place! Life does move on, but it's nice to know that I can revisit your stories when I need to!
Tim needs to follow his own heart, even if it's a place Deb doesn't want him to go. He's a priest who broke his vows and that still haunts him. He wants to do something with the remainder of his life. Who can argue with that?

But there are good things, too -- Brian & Justin, Michael & Ben, Brian's
connection with the kids, Deb has found some happiness.
You take the bad with the good.
That's life.

same story, after all.
I'm glad people are still here for the wrap up. It will be interesting to see if
anyone returns for the finale.

Tim's decision is sad but understandable. I'm just glad he's trying to bring something good from tragedy and self-deprecation.
I loved all the banter at the party.
Joan is a lost cause.
