Perfect stopping point

I don't even remember when I stumbled upon the first chapters of you story, but it always stuck with me. Something about the situation and Spike arguing with the glow. I really enjoyed the ending and am looking forward to the sequel. I especially like how Buffy just flat asked him:

"Just," she turned back to him, "tell me straight, Spike. We're in love, right?"

No bullshit for Buffy.

Two thought I had about the sequel. I wonder if Spike had commissioned the bot yet. Also, with no soul and no chip Spike can kill Ben.

(And you got me with that ending scene, didn't see that coming. This is a wonderful, heartbreaking story and i think you managed to amp it up to eleven in the last 3 chapters. Before, it had that aura of surrealism, because it was so, so different from the show setting. But once back in SunnyD - it all carries over. With those last chapters what came before is even more real, perfect lasso for what came before. As alienated as "Devereths", "demon worlds", "crack prostitutes", "soul-less Spikes" are - suddenly they're all very, very real. I cannot really spell out what i want to say, just: you did flawlessly. :-))
