So, occasionally, when I want a fluff-me-up for my mood, I'll go trolling You Tube for "Top-ten cinematic kiss" videos and that sort of thing. I find that I don't often completely agree with the choices others make (completely fine) and I wonder what would be on my list, if I was the type who was inclined to learn how to make videos and take the ( Read more... )

Oo, good idea for how to fluff up the day! :-) I'll borrow it. The kiss that stands out in my mind is from "The secret of my success." Michael J. Fox and the actress who plays his love interest are somewhere on a boat, I think. He's been pining after her for a while, and now they're finally together. He leans in and kisses her - and for some reason, that kiss always makes me gooey. I think it's b/c of the angle from which it was shot - you see her from the back, and his arm is around her upper back, and his hand is splayed over her head, kind of boxing her in. It doesn't hurt that he has long fingers, which I find sexy. Michael J. Fox is not the first actor you'd associate with "sexy", but there you have it.

Wow, you went even further back than I did. I totally get Michael J. Fox. And I loved this movie when it came out. Here's a Youtube clip: The kiss starts at 2:08, I think. I love how the camera cuts to inside the ferry so we're seeing them through the window. It gives it an extra sense of voyeurism.

Thank you, thank you! I was too lazy to look for it on youtube (didn't even necessarily think it was there - that should teach me! everything is there nowadays). I guess it's the 2nd kiss, at 2:40, that I remember best. I always thought it's a pity the woman was badly cast. He deserved a better costar. But even so, he made it work incredibly well. It hurts me to see him now - on his rare public appearances - with those beautiful hands moving uncontrollably.

More sliding lips! Mork should've seen this - too bad there were no YouTube in his days.

This has to be the most romantic kiss I've seen in a long, long time. I love the expression on his face. Gah. How do you capture that in writing?

Spoilers for the end of North and South:

Sorry, were you talking about my clip or the one you shared? It was the 'expression on his face' that threw me, because that's what I was talking about.

And then I was spending half the time watching your clip thinking, "London? Wait, where's Patrick Swayze...what North and South is this?"

This is fun...let's do more!

It's a BBC mini-series. Just four hours. I broke down and bought the DVD because I couldn't find it to rent around here. I still haven't watched it! (No time and we only have one TV and my men folk don't like costume dramas - go figure) Now that I've watched that clip again, I want to see the whole thing. Richard Armitage (spelling?) is just yummy and the man can act.
