The answer comes in the form of an old adversary who can provide Dean with the protection he needs. All he has to do is offer everything he is to Gabriel’s alternate persona. To Loki.
But even when the ritual is complete and his soul firmly bound to a being he’s not even entirely sure he trusts, he’s still left fighting enemies on all sides. The armies of Heaven will stop at nothing to get to Castiel. The wall keeping Sam’s sanity intact is not as structurally sound as it should be. Demons are itching to come after Dean. And the archangel-turned-pagan-god at his side is annoyingly persistent in trying to win his affections.
Dean figures they’re all pretty much screwed.

Summary: When Sam Winchester was eight years old his closest friends were imaginary or ghosts. He learned at an early age that he was different from other children, finding comfort in the realm of the supernatural. Years later, he discovers that one of those friends he thought to be imaginary, Gabriel is real, a trickster and an archangel. Things go from bad to worse to interesting and bizarre while Sam and Dean hunt a killer doll named Robert haunting a museum in Miami investigating incidents they believe to be connected to a string of demonic activity. During the hunt, Sam runs into Gabriel, bringing up memories long since forgotten. With demons using a doll to their bidding, tempting Sam with demon blood, and Dean getting attacked by man eating urinals it’s up to Gabriel to get them to perform their roles as Lucifer and Michael, but Sam feels that Gabriel’s deadly pranks and ways of handling things is not the best way to get the Winchesters attention.

The armies of Heaven will stop at nothing to get to Castiel. The wall keeping Sam’s sanity intact is not as structurally sound as it should be. Demons are itching to come after Dean. And the archangel-turned-pagan-god at his side is annoyingly persistent in trying to win his affections.

Years later, he discovers that one of those friends he thought to be imaginary, Gabriel is real, a trickster and an archangel. Things go from bad to worse to interesting and bizarre while Sam and Dean hunt a killer doll named Robert haunting a museum in Miami investigating incidents they believe to be connected to a string of demonic activity. During the hunt, Sam runs into Gabriel, bringing up memories long since forgotten. With demons using a doll to their bidding, tempting Sam with demon blood, and Dean getting attacked by man eating urinals it’s up to Gabriel to get them to perform their roles as Lucifer and Michael, but Sam feels that Gabriel’s deadly pranks and ways of handling things is not the best way to get the Winchesters attention.
