I was hoping to ignore it, but the advert for the Dragonball movie came on tv this morning. Even though it's out in April here! But, I won't complain anymore, cos it's not like someone's gonna force me to go watch it

I've heard things about that version, but I've never seen it. ^_^()
Yeah, it's starting in April. There's no confirmation, but it seems like it's gonna be a remake that follows the manga more closely. I think it's cos the manga's gonna finish soon and they want to have an animated version of it? It's gonna have to be hundreds of episodes in that case!
The American Dragonball movie is going to be horrible, I think. At least it will end up being fun to mock. Dragonball's a hard property to adapt, but I'm really not happy with a lot of the choices they've made.
I'm morbidly curious about the Keanu Reeves Cowboy Bebop movie.
For the Dragonball movie, I'm still stuck on WHY IS THERE A WHITE GUY PLAYING THE LEAD IN THIS MOVIE WHYWHYWHY- yeah. So I probably* won't see it in theatres. Might see the DVD, just for LOLs.
* My little brother could always drag me along with him, if he goes to see it, but that's a sibling thing.
*nods* I luckily have no one around to make me see the Dragonball movie. It's weird to see the trailers and be bored by it. Granted, DBZ had it's extremely boring 'let's power up for three episodes' moments, but the original DB was so much fun. And Goku! Wrong race aside, he seems so emo in the trailers! That's just not right.
Heh, Cowboy Bebop is definitely one they wouldn't be able to leave alone. It'll be interesting to see what they might do with that one. But man, has Hollywood gotten so desperate for movie ideas that they've moved from comics to anime/manga? I wouldn't complain if they could get it right, but we all know that they won't. They always seem to miss the point of why a certain story works.
Exactly. They seem to forget that the anime they're adapting already has a fanbase, and that by sticking to what made the original popular, they can still have a successful movie. Case in point: The Dark Knight. I know plenty of people who aren't into comics or don't like the Batman character, but they still enjoyed it cos it was a good movie.

I never had time to finish the manga (I think I've only read the first 3 volumes or so ^^; ....)

I promised myself (after what happened to my favourite character!) that I wouldn't read the manga until I knew it had a good, happy ending. XD

I get what you mean. We're all expecting it to be bad, but it could turn out good if they get it right. But I still don't think he's right for Spike.
