Re-watching stuff!

I opted out of my annual re-watch of Escaflowne and decided to go for something different. Mostly because I made the foolish mistake of watching Whispers of the Heart and Only Yesterday in one sitting without having Freakazoid or that Egg Baby episode of Batman of the Future on standby. In short, nostalgia + kinda bla YOUTH!! ;_; feeling = No ( Read more... )

The Zutara concept didn't irritate me as much as the hatedom that spawned for Aang and Mai as a result. I think both of them are awesome characters and the fact that they're so hated on by those who ship Zuko/Katara kinda irritates me. Mai is a good match for Zuko and I still think her comment of, 'Saving the guy who dumped me." Will forever be listed under crowning moment of awesome. That was character development because before Mai didn't care about ANYTHING.

:O What! How can someone hate Aang? It's impossible! He's so cute! XD I love Mai, she was a cool character. And probably the only person on the show who wasn't afraid of Azula. It was pretty clear from the first episode that Aang and Katara were gonna end up together though.

Oh Aang has an intense hatedom and most of them are Zutarans.

Mai is awesome! She is one of my favorite characters. I love when she tells Azula off finally. That is one of my other favorite scenes from the show.

:( That's sad! He's so sweet! He's a good main character too, I love the kind of hero he chose to be at the end! Haha, I love Mai's deadpan humour. When she's all "Azula can shoot all the lightning she wants at me, I'm not going in that sludge juice!" XD

Ahh, I have so many favourite scenes, both comical and awesome. Definitely one of my top 3 animated shows of the last 10 years, the other two being Justice League and The Venture Brothers.
