Technically, depending on the property law in your state, women might need a 'unique' perspective/help. If they are in like, a common property state, everything can be split 50/50, or in other states, everyone keeps the money they brought in. If a woman has not been working, she might need an attorney that can 1)help her keep any property the couple may own 2) secure alimony or 3) clear up say, the mess of a joint bank account (especially if the woman has not held a job- who's money is it?)
Secondly, women are traditionally the spouse that keeps either full or majority custody of children, so there's an added aspect.
I agree that the ad is poorly worded, but women can have different concerns when it comes to divorce.
Of course they do! The concerns are certainly different. But unique? Really?
Admittedly I have no idea what the laws are here-- I'm in Kansas for the summer and my parents' divorce happened in Kentucky which is where I've lived all my life-- so things might be different here. But not THAT different.
I've got no idea either. I don't want to do family law so I wasn't listening that closely in property. It can get CRAZY.
Like, some states have this law called "Alienation of Affection" where a man (usaully) can sue the man his wife has cheated on/left him for. Because he doesn't get her. People still bring cases like that! (Mostly to be assholes, but yeah). That makes my head spin.
We all know that men are the ones who cause all the problems, and since women end up jilted, they need special advice that men wouldn't understand because women have to be so in touch with their emotions sicne they're so fragile.
