Comcast sucks

Okay, as some of you know, Comcast decided to suddenly yank our cable service out from under us midday Thursday the 23rd. (It's obviously not something related to the digital switchover, because if it had been, we would have lost our signal on 6/12. BUT, we didn't. I learned the trick to getting faster service from these yahoos. You call up and say, "Well, if you can't get here faster than that, I'll just cancel my service all together." (This is especially helpful if you live in a large enough market to have a competing service and threaten to go to them.)

When I did this to RCN, the disconnect chick actually told me that she has powers to move service crews the 'regular' service folk don't. ;)

Thanks! The biggest drawback to this area is FIOS is right across the street but they won't come over here to the cheap seats. Bastards. And I'm sure Comcast knows that...

This is why we switched to Directv. There's still stuff that makes me batty, but they don't choose to do stupid things like work on the line and disrupt service from 8-5 every day for a month (hello, Sesame street time??) and then tell you the manager of the CS department has "more important things to do" than take my phone calls.

Plus TiVo is awesome. *hugs*

Yeah. Problem with any kind of dish thingo is that we'd have to have it up on a pole way above the roof, because it would have to be higher than the buildings on either side of us. Instant lightning rod ftw!

If they can't, they'll be refunding us for a LOT more than 5 days of service, that's for sure! Bastards...
