John Wheeler died yesterday. He was 96 years old. He was a brilliant man with a generosity of spirit and intellect. He was one of the leading thinkers of modern gravity, both classical and quantum mechanical, and the Wheeler-de Witt equation describes the evolution of the wave function of the universe.
