This year was the year I spent more time on facebook sending my thoughts than lj. However, because so many people are on facebook, I do not actually say my thoughts. My to-do list was doing so well last week. Now it's getting longer and longer. I just want to go to bed.

Life is really good right now. Things have never been better, and all signs point to them only improving. However, several people around me are having their lives broken and torn apart. It sucks to want to celebrate, but how, when others are suffering? And yet, when should I celebrate?

urgh. I want to go out to the open mic where I'll meet up with music friends. I want to hang out at that coffee shop with a specific friend. I want to go to the movies by myself. So I finally created a rock band with a bunch of teenagers. Although we sound great and I'm thrilled at how my songs sound, I feel like I need to exit the scene and let them be an all teen band :P

But they need to write their own material. And I'll be their biggest fan.

I just read a chapter of a book that reminded me of yet another reason I homeschool my own: politics. As a kid I remember getting prizes I didn't think I deserved, and my face straining with the pressure of not crying over a prize I didn't get, but I know I deserved. It was all so baffling. I felt the need to go walking around Saratoga Springs last week (still haven't done it) and flipped through my list of people and decided I just want to be with my family. I love my friends, but it's been a stressful summer, and my family have been the most stable of everything. Maybe when there's a day without RAIN.

Gah! The summer is almost over and I didn't finish editing my book. I made some good headway, but I'm sure it won't be done for another couple of months. Darn. I had to write a play as part of the backstory for the book, and that took two months. I finally finished it, and now can go back to writing the book.
