My DVD Collection

Not everyone knows that I collect DVDs.  For those that do know I collect them then I update you on its progress:  I recently obtained my 600th DVD.  Wow.  600.  That is not a small number.  What I am most proud of is that my collection contains no burnt or copied movies.  That's just not my thing.  It contains a lot of movies I ( Read more... )

Admittedly, I am not a movie guy, but I enjoy them in general.

My faves:
Tombstone - Probably Kurt Russell & Val Kilmner's best flick. Add in Charton Hesston, Sam Elliot, an allstar cast and a kick ass script and it's gold.

Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves - The plot & storytelling is excellent, and you see a lot of remade shots from 1939's Robin Hood.

Dogma - In my opinion, Kevin Smith's best flick. Funny, relevent, great cast, again a good plot.

What makes a good movie? Movies that make me think about who I am, where I am going, how I am. (yeah, yeah, typical response).

I cannot say that I have a favourite movie. Many are unique in their own way.

I have recently watched Peaceful Warrior. This one was great, though many others may say it is a typical back from the brink, blah blah blah. Being an athlete myself, I walked away thinking that the movie can be applied to myself, it can help me be a better person.

And two other movies that keep popping back into my head are Before Sunrise and its sequel Before Sunset. Mindless meandering, no special effects. I do not know why, I just enjoyed these two.

And I have not perused your list, but Dead Poets Society is way up there, as I am sure you have too.

Till I crawl again, back to lurking for me.
