Hold My Beer! part 4
More shenanigans from the Hicks family! This is the Trailer Park Challenge if you are just joining us here. I'm doing this mostly as a way to play-test the rules. And also because it's just plain fun. ;D Parts one, two and three are at those links if you need catchin' up to do.

When we were last here, the Hicks family had just had their first annual yard sale. It was a decent success, netting them enough extra cash to pay the bills and make some improvements around the place. You'll notice there's a driveway slab now. For when they can eventually afford a truck. Which likely won't be until next generation sometime, the way things are going.
"Tomatoes again? Can't I plant somethin' like cucumbers? Pole beans?!"
Sorry, Jane. They're the cheapest! D:
Both Jane and Bubba are fortune sims and Jane is the one taking this the hardest. Since Bubba is the one with a job, he at least earns those little aspiration boosts from going to work and earning money.
"HOLY DANG! Lookit all them planets up there!"
He's working his way up to "host" in the Culinary career. He needs a logic point. Just one, thank goodness.
Unfortunately Bubba brings this kid home with him from work every day. This is also the paper boy! It's a glitch for which I have since downloaded the fix for. We'll see if it works.
Anyway, that's Dixie the oldest child in the house. She's the one the paper boy feels the need to complain to about every little tiny thing while he's here. This is the single most annoying part about having a home business! Their visiting friends and family COMPLAIN about things despite the business not even being OPEN.
Dixie has a few younger brothers. Clyde is the one she's trying to scalp right now. That's Jethro with the red hair waiting for his turn.
By the way, I've never seen a teen noogie a kid before Dixie started doing it! In fact I had no idea it was even possible! How can I have played this game this long and not know this?!
And then there's Bodean! He's the youngest of them all. And the meanest. So Dixie might have met her match if she's still around when he's a teen, too.
Finally, the last promotion Bubba is allowed to have in the culinary career! As long as he doesn't autonomously gain another logic point, he's good for a while.
It's time to add another uncontrollable teen to the mix. Clyde's turn...
His nose has seemed to finally stop climbing towards his hairline. He rolled Romance. Ugh, unless he knows how to use ACR better than Dixie does (she's Pleasure/Romance) he's gonna have a tough time for a while.
Fortunately his secondary aspiration is Grilled Cheese. This might actually keep him sane until adulthood!
He's also the complete polar opposite of his older sister Dixie! He might have a chance with the girls (he randomized straight) if they ever decide to bring one home from school with them.
In the meantime, it's just life as usual. Gotta get those A+ report cards while I can still tell them to do homework!
The teens... require some extra effort. Dixie is the one needing the most adult intervention at the moment...
There's even an elementary school notebook at the bottom of that stack!
I got the "one day to" pop up for Bodean but he was in the middle of learning to talk, and despite knowing he's dead tired I made him grow up that night anyway. Just so there isn't any more toddlers underfoot this generation!
Bodean then proceeded to immediately fall asleep standing in the kitchen...
And lost a chunk of Aspiration for it!
Though I'm not sure if it's because he fell asleep outside of a bed, or...
Because everyone LAUGHED at him!
Since there's no room in the bedroom for another bed, Bodean's bed gets put in the hallway where his mat previously was.
Poor kid. Anyway, here's a better look at his face...
The toddler wonkyness has smoothed out a lot, but he's still got by far my favorite face so far.
So... Jane here is feeling a little bit of regret and remorse. And hopefully GUILT. Why?
BECAUSE!
And just because you're getting on in years doesn't mean you can slack on the birth control!
*SIGH* But it's just one more baby in the house. We'll deal with it.
In the meantime I used what was left of the yard sale money to add a tent to the yard, since I don't see how I'm going to fit another bed in the house.
"Y'all don't mind me... I'm just moppin'."
Miracle of miracles! We got a dog to move in! This is Chester. I had to make Bubba jump out of bed in the middle of the night to go "greet" Chester when I saw him on the lot. Their lifetime friendship had managed to scoot up over the best friend point, and Bubba got Chester to move in. WHEW. Just one more dog to get before the heir takes over.
OH, and Chester is dreaming about how he's seen a suspicious lack of weather in this neighborhood. He's right. I put in a "no weather" hack for my legacy, and despite having removed it for this neighborhood, I'm still not seeing any rain or snow! :(
Anyway, with the addition of Chester, they now have a covered back porch for his bed. Which... is actually just Bodean's old toddler mat. I'll have to get another one when Jane finally has this Surprise Baby.
I'll show what I did with the rest of that yard sale money, too. They got some cheap-ass wallpaper in the living room, a half wall to divide it from the kitchen, a recliner chair, and.. well that's it. D:
Bubba is home from work and I made him check the paper for a new job. Luckily Criminal was there and he was able to change jobs right then.
BECAUSE...
The paper boy! I've got the fix in for this, but it's not stopping him from coming home with Bubba. So hopefully getting Bubba into a new job will trigger it.
"And furthermore, she's RUDE! With the poking and the shoving and the snarling! If I want to peg her in the face with a water balloon, it's her JOB to take it with a smile!"
In the meantime he feels the need to complain about Dixie to anyone who will listen.
"Mama, just tell him I don't even work here!"
Soon it's time for the red-headed anomaly to grow into a teen...
Jethro rolled Fortune with Knowledge secondary.
Despite having Knowledge as his secondary, I still can't control him (and he's still eligible for heir). So he's on his own like the other two. That leaves Bodean there as the only child now (at least until the Unauthorized Baby comes along).
But he does okay on his own.
I should mention that I am not making them skill in any way, shape, or form. They just do what they want to do with only a little guidance from me when their Needs get low. Bodean has managed to keep himself platinum all on his own!
Unlike Dixie. She's skipping school every day now. They even managed to get her caught up on all her homework! But when the bus comes, she ignores it. I clicked on her one morning to see if it was even in her queue, and discovered that I can't even TELL her get on the bus because it's not even selectable. I was informed that this is an InTeen thing. So that's another thing I don't like about InTeen. :P
Anyway! Bubba has a whole day before he starts work in his new Criminal job. So that means he's digging for treasure in an attempt to find something they can sell at the next yard sale Since he's no good at fishing, Jane has to bust her butt in the garden every day.
Bubba isn't very good at this either. Jane looks like she wants to just smack his worthless self upside the head.
Gah. ONE MORE TIME. I swear this is the last pregnancy. I'll even disable ACR in this house if I have to!
THIS was a complete and utter surprise! Neither Jane nor Bubba have family perks, I don't have any multiple-births hacks, and this was the first pregnancy I didn't run a pregnancy scanner on after the first bump! I think I might have invented new swear words just for the occasion...
And notice the adult and teen who were present managed to skedaddle when they realized it was twins on the way...
Well, it's a boy I named Dallas, and a girl I named Lurline.
I wasn't expecting to have to buy another crib! So now their funds are down to nearly nothing again. I have to put the cribs in the hallway where Bodean's bed was...
And Bodean's bed got put out here with Chester. There's not even room on the covered porch for it.
Dixie isn't fairing well right now! Though I didn't expect she would after she rolled Pleasure. I've had uncontrollable Pleasure sims in the past, and they always eventually tip over the Cliffs of Insanity.
So far Jethro and Clyde are doing just fine.
I love how no one even gives a damn about Bodean's report card. e__e
Well, then again, this might be Dixie's way of congratulating him.
"I swear, when I'm older, she's gonna regret the day she messed with Bodean Hicks!"
Early the next morning the inevitable happened...
Jane just became Plant Jane and Bubba just sprung a bolt for her. (one of his turn-ons is Plantsims)
Dixie spirals faster downwards. She spent the day wrecking a painting that one of them started as a kid and never finished.
THEN! One of her brother's brought this guy home from school with them. I peeked into Dixie's relationship panel and she's got two bolts for him. This might save her!
"Dixie, why don't you flirt a little with that nice boy your brother brought home from school!"
I'm gonna stop having Plant Jane influence Dixie towards relationships. It's not working!
LOOK! Bubba's home from his first day at work as a Criminal and the paper boy isn't with him!
He also got a promotion, and because he's in the Criminal track, he's got to pay off the cops every day. So that's two pay-off gnomes for today.
Dixie and the Mohawk Guy did eventually get well enough acquainted that she managed to get her first kiss from him! She didn't get one scrap of an aspiration boost from it! She also should probably work on her technique... that open-glazed-eye thing and the stiff smile are just creepy.
So I'm gonna end this with the Unauthorized Twins' toddler birthday... But I'll show you what they look like!
Dallas. He's probably a male face version of Dixie. At least that's what it looks like at this point.
And Lurline. Who appears to be the female face clone of Clyde! Well, I don't intend to put these two in the heir poll anyway, so they are just extra Just-In-Case insurance should the others not make it to adulthood for some reason.
