I never read any of the Batman comics except for the Dark Knight books. I am only a little ashamed to admit this. But I loved those, of course, because they are awesome. And before I read those, I watched the animated series. The good animated series. The Paul Dino one. And I loved that, of course, because that was awesome. I also watched most of ( Read more... )

... Freaky. [My reaction after just watching the trailer]

So, out of the whole of Batman, I've only seen Batman Begins. I quite liked it. Cillian Murphy pretty much stole the show, of course. That, and... the mentor-dude whose name I can't remember but I think he was also in the recent SW movies.

This new movie also looks good... if I ever get around to seeing movies next summer, I would want to see that.

I'm a huge Batman Begins fangirl (quite enjoyed the first movie, with Michael Keaton, but Tim Burton's style never did it for me) so am really looking forward to this! Having said that, the trailer doesn't give much away - which is fine, because trailers these days are mostly just condensed versions of the movie - so I'll just be squeeing quietly in a corner between now and next summer.

I never liked the Joker as a character (not sure why ... Two-Face, OTOH ... ) but Heath Ledger usually kicks ass, so that's enough for me :)

Oh, they've got Two-Face too. Aaron Eckhart. Unlike the Joker, very little publicity's been done for him...but he is in it, apparently.

Heh, funny - you wouldn't know from the trailer!

Well, I'm pretty sure the trailer is more to show off the Joker. But yeah, he's in it, even if they don't talk about him much.

Ooooh, Hellboy 2, I'd forgotten about that! Yeeees. Incredible Hulk, eh, never saw the first one and never knew much about the character beyond the basics. Iron Man, er, well, I do love me some Robert Downey Jr., but I saw the trailer, and...24-esque conservative propaganda is not really my thing. (Also, making things "hip" and "with it" be damned--Tony Stark made the suit because he was dying of heart problems, dammit, not because terrorists made him.) And I suspect you're thinking of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, what with Goblet of Fire and Order of the Phoenix having already been released (though I didn't know HBP would be that soon after! Speedy little buggers). And, ooh, there's also Prince Caspian! So yes, it is a hella good year for the geeks provided you do not really mind Iron Man.

Re: comics, try The Long Halloween, which still is my favourite Batman story in any media. It's written by Jeph Loeb and drawn by Tim Sale, which makes it a must for a Heroes fan anyway.*g*
