"My mouth tastes so bad all of a sudden."

= Today is a beautiful day off of work, which (as joeysdramaqueen astutely pointed out) I rarely get. I had 8 more vacation days through July 1st to take off and since I had no big plans for a vacation, I decided to sprinkle them throughout the months here and there, giving me random 3-day weekends when I need them the most. So far it's been a great idea! ( Read more... )

I use NOrton and I've never had any problems with it. It's always been really accurate and it's never missed any viruses or anything.

Thank you! I used to use Norton years ago, and had no problems with it. I've heard a few people say it slows down their computer a lot, though. That's my only concern with that. But it's always good to hear success stories. :)

Thanks. It's been a wonderfully lazy day, just how I like it. And perfectly fitting with your icon. ;)

Expect a package soon!

Yay for days off! My computer wiz friends and such always told me to use McAfee because it was the best, so I have no idea why it's giving you problems. Clueless is an awesome movie no matter what anyone says. To tell you the truth, when I saw new pictures of JC, I didn't even notice that the Leo was missing. Whoops.

I had absolutely *no* problems with it until I upgraded. I don't know why, either. :(

Really? It felt glaringly obvious to me, but maybe it was because it was HQ and I scrolled right past that area where I usually see it. It just felt so strange NOT to.

Anyone out there use Norton or maybe AVG? Some other program?

I've used AVG for about 4 years now with never a problem and I don't believe it's ever let anything slip through, either. I love it and used it at my old work and made my mom get it. ;-)

I used it briefly a few years ago and I liked it. I guess I've always been of the mind that if it's free then it obviously can't be the best option! lol Thanks for your input, I appreciate it!

The major difference between AVG free or not is the support. Free doesn't give you the tech support so if you DO come across a virus, you have to hunt it down and figure out how to get rid of it on your own - which I've had to do all of twice in the years I've had a computer *knocks on wood*.

Dude, HUGE thumbs up for AVG. HUGE. I've been using the free version for four years and I think it's wonderful.

It also has the endorsement of our local geeks (the ones we pay), who told me in all seriousness that AVG Free offers everything that the subscription services charge you for, and it's more efficient and it takes less space. And did I mention free?

I'm very sorry to hear about your student loan woes, dude. Contacting the loan company directly and working out a steady payment plan might be easier for you than the garnishment; they might even knock down some of that awful accrued interest.

Oh I always like to hear good remarks *plus* comments from the geeky dudes who probably know better than all of us combined. I also really love the whole "free" aspect of it all. lol Thanks!

As of right now I've prevented the garnishment. This program they're putting me in means high payments for 10 months, then it gets wiped off my CR and sold to another lender, who I then begin to pay back in smaller amounts. They've already lowered the payment once since I posted, so here's hoping it all works out. Thanks for the good thoughts. :)
