"My mouth tastes so bad all of a sudden."

= Today is a beautiful day off of work, which (as joeysdramaqueen astutely pointed out) I rarely get. I had 8 more vacation days through July 1st to take off and since I had no big plans for a vacation, I decided to sprinkle them throughout the months here and there, giving me random 3-day weekends when I need them the most. So far it's been a great idea! Granted, I'm only down the hall from work, and if there's a problem, there will be knocking on my door. But I got to sleep in and that always makes me happy.

= It's 11:30, I got to sleep in, I have my cereal, my scented candles are lit, my water/rock garden is flowing, I'm thumbing through my Justin Entertainment Weekly, and listening to some Alanis Morissette on my headphones with my bunny slippers on. For this moment, I am happy. *breathes*

= Something funky is going on with my internet connection. It started ever since I upgraded my McAfee stuff. My browser doesn't always load pages, and yet my email loads fine and my FTP connections are *very* fast, so it makes no sense. I'm wondering if I should change my antivirus program. Anyone out there use Norton or maybe AVG? Some other program? Do you have any pros or cons for any of these? I've never found one that I love and would swear by, though I've been fairly protected by McAfee since I started using it. Any ideas/thoughts/opinions?

= Soooo, I'm back to being a full-time viewer of General Hospital. I swore I would never go back to soaps, as they were a bit of an addiction for over 20 years. I finally weaned myself off of them a few years back, but my OTS (one true soap!) lured me back in slowly over the months with my favorite couple (Liz/Jason) and with an amazing sweeps storyline (hostages, yay!). So yes, I'm back. I both hate and love it at the same time.

= Thank you for all the compassionate responses about my student loan situation. It put me in such a funk for the last 48 hours it's unbelievable. Mostly because it's nobody's fault but my own, and I'm mad at myself and I have no right to be upset at anyone else. It was a loan that I knew I had to pay back. I tried a bit, but life got in my way and this loan didn't seem as important as other things. And now it's making itself incredibly important. It's taking 25% of my monthly income! Doh! This loan started at 6k is now up to 19k with interest and non-payment over the years. Oops? But it's the *only* bad thing on my credit report after my bankruptcy a couple years back (that's one of the only things bankruptcies can't clear), aside from the bankruptcy itself of course, and I'll be glad when it's gone. So here I go, being forced to be an adult again. I'm really not fond of it.

= Trolling around YouTube yesterday I found almost the entire Styx concert for Caught In The Act. I may be dating myself, but back in 1984, I was 11ish and this concert was my favorite thing in the world. I used to play the VHS tape of it every single day after school! This was the height of their success, and as cheesy as they seem now, I still love it to pieces. It was kindof a rock opera concert/tour about music censorship. Quite foretelling, actually. For you SPN fans who may not have known about them until they used "Renegade" on an episode recently, you can just watch the performance of that song here if you're interested.

= I saw the new pics of JC at Fashion Week. I don't think I properly posted about and mourned the loss of the Leo necklace. I looked at a HQ pic of him and his little, hairy neck is so bare and.. sad. I understand needing to move on to another chapter of his life, blah blah, but. SIGH. I miss the necklace.

= Rainn Wilson (Dwight, The Office) is hosting SNL on Feb 24th! EEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

= Finally purchased the DVD of one of my favorite movies in the world - Clueless (The Anniversary "Whatever!" edition, of course). This is definitely Top 10 All-Time material here, folks. The extras are pretty awesome, with interviews with everyone now, except Alicia Silverstone. I'm gonna chill on my couch and watch the movie itself today. It always makes me smile.

= I'll post a full week's worth of TV thoughts later today. Survivor started last night! New FNL! New NCIS! New Office! I love Sweeps, omg!
