That's where I'm at now! The bandanna dude just narrowly defeated the, uh, other dude. >.> I do not know this Hyoutei and Rikkai of which you speak!
(I don't really like anime. I know, weird, but for all the manga/anime combos I've tried so far, the anime always gets things subtly (or hugely) wrong in terms of character interpretation, so I don't bother with most anime -- the only one that's been reasonably faithful to the manga so far is Skip Beat. I only watch the Bleach anime because I'm so desperately in love with the series and can't get enough of anything that has to do with it.)
You just reminded me that I need to get back to Hikaru no Go- I think I'm on ch. 13 or something. >> But I'm still going through FMA and am only on Ch. 8.

(The anime might be easier to pick up with Tenipuri. It's that much more mindless and your eyes can glaze over much more easily...;)

I agree though, with tenipuri it is all about the anime and not so much the manga.

Hang on, where's Eroica???
Let Dai, Claymore, and Rurouni Kenshin are on top of my reading list.

Ooops, I knew I forgot something! Eroica is on the "eyeing" list now. :D
Let Dai -- I think you will enjoy it. It drags in places and sometimes gets a bit too emo, but overall it's a lovely story.
