0001 - Wanted was awesome. There were times I could not suspend disbelief and rolled my eyes; the plot is a solid C-, but overall as a movie experience, I loved it. I was really impressed with James McAvoy's acting, so much so that I was not even a little bit annoyed when they showed him instead of Angelina. :"> I admit it -- I went in to watch ( Read more... )

0001 - I had the opposite reaction to Wanted, unfortunately :( Sure, I liked the keyboard smash and the special effects were great - but I've come to expect eyecandy from any scifi/fantasy/comicbook movie so I still kept goig WTF all the way through the movie...

0101 - Hancock and Dark Knight are the only two left that make me want to hit the cinema...

This has been a good summer for movies that don't take themselves seriously; if I'd watched Wanted for the srsbsns plot, I probably would have hated it too.

HANCOCK ROCKED. But it, like Wanted, doesn't take itself seriously. ;)

Wanted was made of sheer and unadulterated awesome. *grin* although the one thing i relaly relaly relaly did not like was that they basically fat-bashed the boss - wouldn;t it have worked jsut a sw ell has she been skinny> But at least, the one redeeming thing was that she was a bitch in addition to being fat.... *shakes head* but yeah, minot buitch about an awesome move XD

Yeah, the fat-bashing was not made of cool, though I don't know if they could have done the doughnut thing in the end without setting it up that she was a fan of doughnuts. but they could have done that without fat-bashing; she could have just been a skinny person with an unhealthy addiction to doughnuts. Bah. *shakes fist*

There is no such thing as a bad drive-in movie. ;D And while I usually don't actively dislike most movies I see, I don't really love them either. But I loved Iron Man and Get Smart. And I could see the Hulk remake again. So far this has been a really good summer for movies.

We didn't end up seeing Hancock at the drive-in! It was the second show on that screen, and the first show was Don't Mess with the Zohan which we definitely didn't want to see again -- and there is no point trying to show up for the second movie as most people arrive early for both and take all the good spots.

I could totally see Iron Man, the Hulk remake, and Wanted again. :D

James McAvoy is ace. I highly recommend The Last King of Scotland if you haven't seen it already - it's absolutely breathtaking.

I haven't seen that! I never paid much attention to him before Wanted; I've been meaning to check out some of the other stuff he's done.
