If I was to salt dry small animal pelts, would I later be able to rehydrate them for tanning? If yes, what should I wash them with before the tanning process? If I could dry them it would be a lot more convenient for me, as I am unable to freeze them (so skin them straight away ( Read more... )

10-12 months is fine, I was thinking weeks, rather than months. And so would just salt be okay? I usually use borax as I just dry them to preserve, so if I dried to tan, should I just salt them?
