Sub-menu Indicators in Web Design

I am trying to think of a way to make it more intuitive that they are sub-menus on certain buttons on http://2cents4change.povertyprogram.com . Everything I've thought of so far looks weird, so I'm asking for help: what could I do to make the existence of submenus more obvious ( Read more... )

Most websites that I've seen seem to use some form of a little arrow (">" or "v") to indicate which menus expand.

I think that definitely makes things clearer. Is there a way to align the arrows so they're all on the same part of the buttons (ie in a straight line on the right or something similar)?

Yes, but not as a quick fix. Hmm. I'll have to think about that. In any case, making it look neat will have to wait: I have a paying website project I need to focus on next week and I just wanted to fix the biggest problem, which I think putting the arrows in did.
