Just got my acceptance letter from Chesapeake College. I'm unusually excited. :D And also really, really nervous. I have no idea what kind of accomodations I'll need come September. I've never had to deal with a Disability Office before. I'm undecided as to whether I should take an internet-only class (would be easiest on my health) or a real class ( Read more... )

Are you working on another degree? I'm in the process of matriculating at the local community college in hopes of actually applying all the credits from the (7!) colleges I have attended to some sort of degree. I've never had to actually apply to take continuing ed classes, though.

Nah, I just want to take some classes for fun. Tuition's waived for people on SSDI (I just have to get the Social Security office to fill out a form each semester), so it's just course fees and books I'll be paying for.

Ahh, that's neat. Do you know if that is something offered at many colleges? I have a friend who is looking to go back to school, but he has an academic history similar to mine, so he can't get aid (he is also on SSDI or SSI, not sure which).
