Hello and welcome to the community dedicated to FUNKY World Dance Project!
FUNKY dance, which was a huge hit during Arashi's LOVE tour, is a great way to unite Arashi fans all over the world.
This is what we are aiming for.
In the next several months, let's do our best and create the FUNKY storm around the world!
Let's have fun!
Here is how we are planning to do it.
Please take a couple of minutes to read the following information carefully before applying.
There will be several stages to the general process:
Stage 1 Applications (deadline: March 15th)
Stage 2 Assignment of A and B dance patterns and final dance instructions
Stage 3 Filming and video submission (deadline: May 31st)
Stage 4 Video editing
Stage 5 Uploading the video
Please read the detailed description of all the stages below.
For Stages 2-5, new posts will be created as we move on to the respective stage.

Stage 1 Applications
Period: end of January - March 15th
APPLICATIONS CLOSED

To know the number of people who will take part in this project, we ask you to submit a short application form.
After that, please leave a comment to this entry with your name/nickname and country (indicated in your form) so that we can confirm the receipt of your application.

Stage 2 Assignment of A and B dance patterns and final dance instructions
Period: as soon as the applications close
Final video editing will include splitting the screen in several segments for the parts of the song where the dancing pattern is different for A and B.
To avoid any confusion, each participant will be assigned with a dancing pattern.
Dancing groups will be using both patterns in the same video.
For the dress code, we'll be using Arashi colours.
For individual shots, we will ask you to wear the colour of your favourite member (this will also be used in editing). People who chose more than one Arashi member might be asked to wear a specific colour for editing purposes and to ensure an even distribution of colours in the video.
If you are participating as a group, you may choose either to wear the colours of your respective favourite members or use the entire Arashi rainbow to make the shot more colourful.
There will be a separate post for video discussion and brainstorming where we will define the final video instructions.
Please do not film the video before the final instructions are posted.
There will be guidelines to follow and certain activities that you'll need to include in your video.

Stage 3 Filming and video submission
Period: mid-April - May 31st
You'll have about a month and a half to film your video.
Full video instructions available here!
The setting is entirely up to you. We encourage you to dance wherever you feel comfortable, in the house, at school, on the streets, it will be great to have a variety of places to add dynamism to the video. You can opt for indoor filming, however, as this is a global project, it would be really nice if you could film outdoors with a famous landmark in your city / some beautiful scenery.
For dancers with penlights, there will be an additional request to film particular sections of the song in the dark.
Both for indoor and outdoor videos, we recommend putting your camera on a tripod for a steady and clear shot.
Basic video requirements
Aspect ratio: 16:9
Required video format: .mp4 or .mpeg
Video quality: MQ and higher
Recommended file-hosting service: MEGA
