Gorden Kaye was superb as Rene Artois in ‘Allo ‘Allo, a broad sitcom taking swipes at everyone involved in World War II. I was really sad to hear about Gordon Kaye. I have extremely fond memories of watching 'Allo 'Allo with my parents. We still quote the show, even now. It's so nice to know that René was Gordon Kaye's favourite character to portray. Of course, I remember his appearances on shows like Are You Being Served? and Last of the Summer Wine, though it always seems strange to hear him without the French accent.

I know that Gordon Kaye will be missed by fans worldwide. He won't be forgotten.

It's wonderful, isn't it, that he loved Rene so much. Refreshing as so many folk who are known for only one role end up resenting it. He made so many people happy with that silly show.
