Birthdays and baking

So the last baking I did in 2014 was this delicious fruit cake. It's a recipe I hadn't tried before, one that didn't require eggs and was really good. There's cinnamon and all-spice in it, which really brought a strong flavour to it. Your last baking of 2014 was obviously a big success! That fruit cake looks delicious! :-) I hope you'll be able to experiment with marzipan and icing next Christmas.

I'm glad the past weekend was so much fun! Your mother-in-law's 60th birthday sounds fabulous! That cake is wonderful! And it's great that you were able to spend the night at Baby Mel's and spend some time with other members of the family. :-)

Thank you, the cake really does taste good :) And yes, the birthday celebrations were really good and mum-in-law had a wonderful time which is the most important thing :)
