[She never would have guessed they'd travel this far together when she first talked to Ed on the gear months ago. This wasn't the travel party she'd expected in the least, but it's been so long that trying to imagine traveling Johto with anyone else is just weird. She stands to the side with the Pokemon for moral support, and also to get an idea of what Pokemon to expect. No better way than seeing first hand, right?

The battle doesn't last long, Ed's Pokemon are extremely well prepared, and a few cheers can be heard from Katara after the battle is over.

Then Ed had to go and overreact and ruin his cool moment. Katara just sighed and got up to approach. "Geez, Ed..."]

Nice job, you guys! Ed, calm down before Winry kills you. [She grins, stooping to offer Aurum a congratulatory hug.]

[Aurum and Schazti both dive at Katara for victory hugs. The rest of Ed's Pokemon just look embarrassed. Ed's fuming quickly changes to smugness. He approaches Flame.]

[So, Winry finally has a chance to see a real match from Ed. And this is not a video feed, this is really real and fun. Skye the Swablu is sitting on her head as always, Den the Houndour is sitting next to Winry and Fullmetal the Magnemite is flying left and right behind her. Ok, can Ed beat this gym leader?

Everything's great... until Ed gets into his bean problem, making Winry facepalm at it. Oh, Ed.

She approaches them, looking less impressed than she was until those words about beans. One look to Aurum who took the badge and something else from the gym leader and Winry smiles again! See Ed, maybe she's not going to kill you just yet.]
