It will be interesting to see what happens in the coming days with this case. I still don't understand WHY someone would name their kid Adolph Hitler. ::facepalm::

What I find bizarre is that it's taken 3 years for anyone to notice. I guess if you bake your own cakes and keep him out of preschool. Still.

I'm also baffled that the parents still seem to understand what the big deal is.

"I didn't really think, I guess, that the world is this cruel."

The whole thing hit the news in the first place because the father approached a newspaper, hoping to pressure the store to make the cake.

They're just trying to hide that they're racist. They're cowards basically.

I think more than that, they were really, really stupid. Which shouldn't be surprising, I guess. They were so brave when it came time to name the kids, but now they're all about the backpedaling. Take the swastikas down, watch a little history channel. Obviously, they hardly knew jack shit about Adolf Hitler to begin with ( ... )

i have it from a good authority close to the case (who can't elaborate because of court order) that the kids names had nothing to do with their removal other than alerting the authorities to the problem in the first place.

That's good to hear. I was just sitting here wondering what might have changed in my past if there had been a CPS policy of removing children from assholes...
