I finally got round to seeing my doctor today, and found a rather enthusiastic locum there instead. Not only did he check out my knee (despite having obvious trouble keeping tack of which side the replaced hip was), but he also weighed me, took my blood pressure, and sent me off for a range of interesting-looking blood tests. I'm sure it's just a cold sore. He sounds overly enthusiastic but at least they're Doing Things for you!

What is a rodent ulcer?

So...will you have a knee replacement?

Definitely just a cold sore - it's almost healed up now. It occurs to me that maybe he gets paid for the number of referrals he makes!

Well, it could be worse! You could have a doctor who does NOTHING (my daughter has had several of those). Better safe than sorry, though I agree it is probably nothing.

Definitely better - the blood tests at least can't do any harm, but the cold sore is almost gone this morning!

I suppose you can always just show up and make comments about physicians who worry too much. :)

It sounds like you have a very concerned doctor and that you are being well looked after, as you should.
