Just back from the Whittington Hospital, almost carrying the g-d's boyfriend to an out-of-hours GP appointment, since he still has a high, fluctuating fever and is all wobbly, plus he can't keep any food down, even the lovely chicken soup I made him. There were no minicabs to be had, so we dragged him to the bus stop, and then managed to flag down ( Read more... )

Oy, I was going to say who's this "we" that is supposed to keep him hydrated, but was relieved to read that his parents can be the "we", at least through the holidays and hopefully for the next couple of months, so you can enjoy a little more peace and quiet in your own space.

I'm becoming rather fond of him as an invalid, possibly because he's confined to bed. I think it would have been very much worse if he'd been a complete stranger rather than someone I've known since he was a baby, like her. The other bonus is that I have embarrassing baby photos of both of them!
