Home grown carrots are really good! My sister had some in her garden this summer and they were grand. I think they were snack carrots..

Wedding day, nice choice! Definitely a day worth choosing :)

I don't think there's a thing like having too many carrots.

Great answers! :)

Home-grown carrots are the best! I think out of all the crops I grew, I noticed the better taste and quality most markedly in tomatoes and carrots. Sweet potatoes aren't that difficult to grow, provided your climate is warm enough, but I read it's best to grow them in raised beds or a greenhouse if your summers aren't super warm. I haven't grown them yet, but I might next year. They don't store well though, so that made me hesitate a little.

As a writer (though I haven't written in ages), I can imagine what makes RPG so attractive. I'd never find the time in a bazillion years though, else I might give it a try.

Your mention of Keemun made me smile. If I had to pick just one type of black tea to drink for the rest of my life, it'd be Keemun, hands-down.

All the same, I was pretty heart-broken when we had to let him go: his kidneys were failing and he clearly was done with life like that. Force-feeding him was a traumatic experience for me.I'm sorry you had to go through that too. I had the same experience with my ( ... )

I do a lot of RPGing from home, through video conferencing. And there are websites that are specialised in managing character sheets and dice rolls, so that's also really easy to set up. So all the time invested is really the time needed to play.

I'm sorry you had to go through that too. I had the same experience with my old cat Smokie. :(
The deal with owners and pets is that the pets give you love, and in return the owner makes sure they are fed and safe and comfortable. With him in such discomfort, I keenly felt that I wasn't honouring my end of the deal.

Which I don't have, haha! Literally every minute of my day is booked solid. It's a luxury to find time to watch a movie now and then.

With him in such discomfort, I keenly felt that I wasn't honouring my end of the deal.I think you were. I think part of our end is also trying our best to make sure they're healthy, and sometimes that involves discomfort (I mean, it does for us too, when we're sick and need medical care). But I think it's also important to recognize when all the care in the world would just prolong suffering, and you did. And then it's time to keep them company and comfort them while they embark on that last journey. You're a good pet owner, and I'm sure all your pets would agree, including those departed. But at the same time, I think I can relate. After a few months of trying to save Smokie, only to realize he was in pain in the end and wouldn't make it, I had horrible guilt after his death. It took me a very long time to make peace with myself again, even ( ... )

I keep well away from animal shelters. I would want to take them all home and feel bad about the one's I had to leave behind.

There was a third sister, but she had already been adopted out. Otherwise I'm pretty sure we'd now have three cats.
