I have a school offer that would require me to move to Dunedin, New Zealand, but I don't know anything about life there.

I think we've had previous discussions about NZ and access to health care etc? Anyway, I'm from NZ but Auckland based. I've only been to Dunedin once for a short holiday (a few days). It's a small city, large student presence with a bit of a bohemian feel. I have no idea about transfriendly GPs or queer life there. There used to be a yahoo group for transguys in NZ but it's essentially dead. I hear that the group has been resurrected on facebook. If you apply to join the yahoo group you can ask for an invite to the closed facebook group and its highly likely there are at least some members from Dunedin who might be able to answer your questions.

There seems to be all of one queer bar, one vegan restaurant, and the entire country's population is double that of NYC, my hometown. It's a lot to take in! I'd likely be involved in my thesis work pretty heavily and traveling for months on end, but I'd need access to T and want to be safe and happy at home. I'd also need to find chill roommates [who don't mind my dog].
I joined the group and will see about Facebook - I'm stealth, so I might have to create a fake profile to join it. Thanks for your help!
