I NEED an STP. Recommendations please?

So I barely started going out in public as male. But that becomes a problem once I have to use the restroom. I go into the men’s and feel taunted by the urinals. I pass them and go straight to the stalls. I hate having to sit down to do my business. It makes me feel less of man. And I get paranoid thinking other guys there might figure me out ( Read more... )

For what it's worth, my brother and father both sit down to pee. Neither stand up. My brother explains that it's often messy and not really worth the effort unless you're outside or something. I don't think bio-men would care.

Although the second question would help me. I'm about 3 months on T. I have a very short hair cut now. I got snapped at (well not to my face, but a husband made the comment to his wife when I left the ladies room after washing my hands. I'm kinda paranoid about using the mens room. But uh.. Not so much now x-o.) He said " He doesn't belong in there!" So... uh... I mean I stated before I have the whole erm, IBS issue so sometimes I can't just go into a room, see all the stalls are being used, and the NOT wait around for an open one. Is it okay to stand in a line?

Yeah, I know some cis guys also sit down. My dad did for awhile (health wise). But it bothers me that I can't do what other guys can.

What do you guys do if all the stalls are occupied? Do you wait till one is empty like in the girl’s restroom?

Yes. I'd imagine that the other men would just think I was waiting -- if they thought about it at all -- because I needed to take a crap, which, obviously, you can only do in a stall.

It doesn't happen often, but yes, guys will wait in line if all the stalls are occupied. (I wondered the same thing for a while, and honestly it was probably 2 years into using men's bathrooms before I saw this phenomenon with my own eyes...the stalls just aren't usually that busy).

As far as STP's, I have always used the simple medicine-spoon-with-a-hole-poked-in-the-end. You can get a medicine spoon at most pharmacies. Of course if you feel you need something that actually looks like a penis, it's not the best.

I use a peecock and while occasionally I have some leakage when I drop them, I found massaging the fuck out of them helps get the excess pee out. I do not use a urinal as I am not comfortable with them at all since I still need to pull most of my clothing down to piss.

The only STP device I ever use is a really simple homemade one. Back in my day it was called "the coffee can lid" method. I've never had any problems using it and it's really easy to conceal. I've tried various other methods in my time, but found most of them either cumbersome or just plain difficult to use consistently...or both. This method is really simple, but a pain to explain in words, so I created a graphic explaining how to make one in case anyone is interested.

Same. Different shape to mine, but also the only thing that ever worked reliably.

Me too. Mine is more shield shaped, so the end next to my body is more pointed, but it fits flat in my back pocket. You could start with this basic shape, cut out bigger than you need, and then adjust it by trimming down.

This is the only thing I've ever found simple and realiable too. But roll rather than fold, somehow it's easier for me, and I have coordination issues so I tape mines into shape to avoid needing to fidget with it
