how do you all feel with the way he explained things in the interview?

I think reading that would raise my already-high blood pressure and, hence, be very bad for my health. From now on, I will make it a point to stay as much away from this issue as I can.

I will say this, though: FWIW, "Oprah" was not as bad as I anticipated it would be.

i thought the same thing and hesitated to read it. and to be honest i was a little shocked to see that the comments between being totally uneducated and other comments that were respecting the story were fairly even.

oh man. some of the comments on ontd pissed me off SO much. i forget how ignorant some people are.

same here. at the very least, im glad theres a good amount of people standing up for the trans community.

like i said on ontd its sad that "normal" is such a narrow road.

alright. in my opinion, i know its an impossible fight. And as hard as some of the comments are to read, i think people should be aware of where and what people are saying. and if they want to, they can stand up for themselves. i just want you and anyone who has a problem with this post to know my intentions werent to stir things up at all.

I also think that in the long run this is going to do so much for the community that while, yes it may make some people "sad, angry and frusterated" in the short term, it's what we've been fighting for for all these years, to be HEARD. jesus christ, some people are just way too picky, i think! Sure, Will and Grace was never the way the gay community wanted to be seen but it was SOMETHING, and it opened a dialog. I think that Beatie is so awesome and strong for doing this and I don't think that he did this without thinking about how it would affect other people.

But the most wonderful thing about this whole incident and the shock and approval/disapproval of it all is that, hey, in the end, your approval is not necessary for him to live his life how he wants. And that, i believe, is what America is all about.

what i wanted to try to convey with it though is important. i really cannot believe that people are seemingly just closing their eyes to the legal ramifications at hand here.
