i skimmed the comments over at ohnotheydidnt. a very mixed reaction. and sad actually - in comparison to most of the comments on the fox news site and even on the oprah site, the ONTD comments were surprisingly positive.
in general, i'm somehow less disgusted by the "omg what a freak show / sinner" reactions than by the "whats the big deal? this just is a (mutilated) female" comments. maybe its that the latter (and equally dangerous) idea appeals to social liberals and conservatives alike. when confronted with seemingly shocking things like this, confused people placate themselves by regulating trans people to their assigned sex.
