So now I just feel fat

Jul 25, 2006 22:19

So, last week I bought 2 shirts from Underworks. They came in today. The Concealer Compression T Shirt, according to the chart, I should be a Medium... um, I have no hope of ever pulling that thing over my head. I need to send back for a L at least. These are 2 pics I shot of myself wearing the other one, the Double Front compression shirt ( Read more... )

I find that folding the Double Front compression "wife beater" (I don't have the actual shirt one) up over your chest helps get them flatter. It takes a bit of manuvering though.

Also I find that when I look in the mirror compared to how I really am is, for the most part, completely different. I as well feel/felt that my chest wasn't being bound enough and that my stomach was sticking out way too much, but with some pictures I've seen of myself. It isn't really like that. Sometimes the stomach "sticking out" can also make you seem more "flat chested" in others views.

If you're really worried about it get some friends you're really close with and ask for the honest opinions. That's what I did. They helped alot.

Hope that helps some.

I actually cross posted this to my own journal for just that reason :)

When you say folding it up over your chest- do you mean to make it so that there is a total of 4 layers of fabric over the chest, and none at all over the belly?

May I ask how big your upper tissue is/was labeled? Because I am a D to DD and yeah, tried that, and it looks like I am wearing a crop top, and it actually emphasizes my chest more when I did that, a LOT more. Mind you, I also have a traditional hourglass figure...

I was a 38DD and tried many things before I found a method that really worked. I ended up getting the double compression and triple compression (both in medium). And, yes, they are hell to get on the first few times. Then after that, it does not get much better. I sometimes had to have help from my gf (especially after a long day if I was exhausted. I just did not have the strength to get it off). I put on the double compression first and made the adjustments--down and out. Then I put the tri-top on over that. Sometimes I would have to readjust the nipples due to EXCRUCIATING pain. It really flattened things out and I had a LOT to flatten. I tried folding the double up over myself, but the results did not suit me and the slickness of the binder made it move around a bit. My method, albeit hot, minimized my need for adjustments and I wore it from early morning until late night.

The Concealer T-shirt model is kind of wonky as far as proportions go, in my opinion. I found that the neck hole, shoulders, and sleeves were quite small, so though I was able to put it on and I thought my chest looked okay, the whole shirt felt very awkward and ill-fitting. Yes, I was wearing it under other clothes and it was pretty discreet, but I didn't like the way it felt.

I think I had a large, but I'm not sure.

Thats how I felt- I looked at this thing on the floor, stretched out as far as I could with my bare hands, flat, and realized it wouldn't fit over the thinnestpoint of my waist let alone my shoulders or chest. Glad I'm not juts crazy- thanks :)

the concealer shirt sizing is messed up... i wear an xsmall in the tri-top and the other one, the longer version of the tri-top (which give the same measurements as the concealer shirt). but the xsmall in the concealer shirt wouldnt have fit my 4 year old daughter. i wasnt even able to get my arms and head into the body of it at the same time, to even attempt trying it on... and i'm really really scrawny. i was unimpressed.

I find that it's a rule of nature that the flatter your chest is, the larger your belly and hips look. This is true for people of all genders. It changes your proportions. So like most post-pubescent guys, your belly will be more noticeable. Top surgery only increases this visual effect since it tends to make people extremely flat (unless you're quite built or the doc leaves more tissue in than usual, your chest may be flatter than a non-trans guy of your size would be).

And yeah, I've used binders that were tank-top style and folding them up over my chest helped quite a bit.

Here are some comparison pics because, yeah, I don't think that my belly is that big, like I said, traditional hourglass... warning, nudity (and one with chains, one with a bruise- I make my current living in the adult industry):
