What is a WIP?
- A WIP is a Work In Progress. Basically any fic that you started but for whatever reason never finished, whether it be 1k or 10k, started yesterday or started five years ago.

Does the WIP have to be posted somewhere in order for us to qualify for entry, or can it be a private wip?
The WIP doesn’t need to be posted anywhere when you sign up. It can simply be a WIP you’ve got saved somewhere in google drive or on your computer, or whereever you store your drafts. But it does not count as finished before it's been submitted to this community. See more under Posting Guidelines.

I posted 3 chapters of my fic to AO3 a year ago but never finished it. Can I still sign up with it?
- Sure, as long as it's unfinished offline as well. You are even still allowed to keep posting it chapter by chapter. It will, however not count as a completed fic until it has been fully finished on your chosen posting site and then submitted to this community.

I'm writing a series, and I've already written the first part, but not started on part 2, can I use it for the fest?
- Yep. As long as the different parts are complete stories, not just each chapter being posted as a new sequel. It also means that several entries in the same series will only count for one!

I started a fic for ACBB/RVBB/some other fest but couldn't finish before the fest was over. Can I use it here?
- Absolutely! It's sort of what this fest is for. As long as it's not a currently ongoing fest that has a deadline, past unfinished entries are allowed. Just be sure to discuss with your artist if it's something you were paired up for.

I have a fic that I wrote for another fest and I kind of want to expand it beyond the original entry, even if I already posted it to the fests. Can I use it?
- Yes, you can as this sort of falls into the rule about "intended sequels," even if the words will be added to the same fic.

I finished the fic(s) I originally signed up with. What do I do?
- Simply comment on your original sign up with the info on the "new" WIP and you're good to go. You can also edit your original sign up to include your new work.

My computer crashed/my house exploded/I'm allergic to my own tears, It's almost midnight and don't think I can finish my current WIP before the date changes to the 1st of April. Help!
- Your mod is of the conviction that it's not a new day until after you've slept. Which means that a fic finished and posted after the date has officially changed to April the 1st, but before you've gone to sleep, still counts as an entry.

Do I need a beta?
- Nope. If you want your work beta'd you can, but we don't want anyone not participating/finishing because of a lack of beta.

I didn't hear about this fest until recently, and it's already been going on for a few months, can I still sign up?
- Sure! Sign ups never close.

I can't do this! I will never ever finish, woe is me!
- Don't despair! If you need  a bit of a pick me up head on over to the support community, Beneath the Castle, where your fellow fandom friends are ready and waiting to motivate you!

What are the prizes?
We would have offered the winners in each category a one shot, but as these mods don't need more WIPs to add to our horrible guilt, we're working towards getting some awesome artists to contribute. If you click here you can see what previous winners have received.
