You're not missing much. S.W.A.T. is a giant waste of some otherwise talented actors emoting at explosions...

SWAT was one of those movies that you can play in the background while your doing something else to fill up the space. It has a few ok parts, but mostly it's filler.

RE: Starship Troopers, supposedly the animated series was closer to the novel, but I've been burned by animated stuff so many times that I am hesitant to watch it.

I own two of the Roughnecks DVDs and haven't cracked them open yet. The set with the whole series is on my Amazon wishlist, but there is no urgency. Meanwhile, there is an anime version of Starship Troopers, made in the 1980s as a direct-to-video product, that has never been imported due to the legal opposition from RAH's estate. I have a promo of it...it's more like VOTOMS than the Heavy Gear TV series (made by the same hands that made Roughnecks) ever was!
