Morning Inspiration...

So I woke up an hour earlier then usual with ideas running rampant in my brain... I had to get up and dig out the sketch book I've been using as a lap desk and my colored pencils. I ended up with three new designs and a handful of drawings from all sorts of angles and copious notes for each ( Read more... )

Would you be willing to make me a bodice if I got you the fabric? If you don't have steel boning, I know of a clever substitute. We used the metal bars from hanging file folders with the ends capped over with duct tape. If you COULD, how long would it take ya and what would you charge?

We could give it a try... I've never made a bodice for anyone other then myself... and actually instead of duct tape you can use tool dip, it doesn't make a gluey mess if it gets warm...

Yeah, we were just experimenting and didn't really know how else to coat. Luckily it was internal to the bodice so the sticky didn't become a factor.
I could bring out the one I have that I love but is now too small to even consider and we could maybe work from it? My mom made it from looking at my other friend's but she may also have a pattern, I'm not sure. She said she hated making it and really doesn't have time at this point of things. I'm happy to do the grommets both down the front and at the top of the arm straps, I just don't know how to do anything else because I suck with sewing.

Well between what you have and maybe snagging a commercial pattern since they are currently $1.00 we may be able to alter and combine and play with a few things and make a pattern that works for you and your body type and then many bodices can be made and enjoyed.
